How it started….

Two friends, one big idea!

From the beginning our story has been a very unconventional one.

In 2018, Meg and Tina shared their business dreams. They realized they both had a passion for helping families, and in particular helping fellow moms. They had already worked together with their businesses. Tina would schedule massages for her clients with Meg (Annwyn Massage Therapy), and while the client was getting a massage, Tina would take care of baby, help around the house and work her magic as Tina the Postpartum Doula. They realized quickly that they worked well together, and Tina confided in Meg about her dream of a postpartum house.

Another year passed and that desire to bridge their businesses and create something bigger was still there. They joked about how they could build it and run it, and “oh the fun they would have”.

Then came October 2020. Meg and Tina took a girls weekend to experience Christy Wright's Business Boutique conference. Virtually, of course. They adventured to Chincoteague Island and while there, they shared the “one thing” in our business that they were scared to do. The “one thing” they continued to come back to. They talked about it, wrote it down, talked about it some more. It was frightening and more than a little daunting.

Fast forward to December 2020. Meg said "What if we just do it?” They had an idea of what they wanted their business to be, but that was it. No official business plan. No location. No team.

Then they took the BIGGEST leap of faith, jumped in with both feet, and leased a space. They did everything slightly backwards, but God and the universe lead every step of the way. And now, here they are, owners of Hampton Roads first ever postpartum wellness house. Juniper House supports clients from prenatal to parenthood, and beyond, with our primary focus on postpartum.

Tina and Meg, along with all of the other incredible ladies of The Juniper House have seen how little support moms receive after baby arrives. Most of them have experienced it first hand. They wanted a space to support mothers and families, to provide them the support and resources they need and deserve.

From everyone at The Juniper House, thank you for your continued support. And welcome. This is where parenthood begins, and wellness never ends.
